Fergus & Roisin Complete Lions Club Leisure Tour: Roisin Kennedy and Fergus Whelan travelled to Laois on Sunday (May 20) to take part in the Abbeyleix Lions Club Charity Spin. The 74 Mile event started at Abbeyleix Manor Hotel and covered Mountrath, over Slieve Blooms to Kinnity, Roscrea, refreshments at Borris in Ossory, Rathdowney, Johnstown, Durrow and finishing back at Abbeyleix.
Roisin came into the event after a hard Saturday morning training session behind the Derny at the Track, followed up that evening by helping Coach the up and coming young female cyclists (Talent 20/20 Team) at Corkagh Park and Sundrive Velodrome.
Kevin Whelan missed the event through illness, but he and Roisin are building miles as they head towards their target event The O2O 265Km Cycle on June 15th.
