Five LCRC Riders Called For Testing:  Lucan Junior Riders Ross Grogan and Darragh Zaidan have been called up by Cycling Ireland for Athlete Performance Testing at the Irish Institute Of Sport on Tuesday evening (March 9th) . Both Riders were recently named on a cycling Ireland Development Team Shortlist for 2010.

Whelan 3rd / Reynolds 7th In Navan:  Lucan Veterans Brendan Whelan and Brian Reynolds were in the prizes in Navan on Sunday (March 7th). The Lucan Sprinters closed in on the breakaway riders approaching the finish line with Whelan only running out of time to catch the first two.

Zaidan 5th In Dublin Wheelers Grand Prix : Lucan CRC first year Junior Darragh Zaidan put in a great ride to take 5th prize in the Dublin Wheelers GP on Saturday morning. Darragh was only awarded his place on Sunday in Navan after a tight sprint finish had caused confusion with the official results.

Lucan Name Strong Gorey 3 Day Team: Lucan Cycling Road Club have named a Team of 15 Riders for the 2010 Gorey 3 Day. The 3 Day Stage race is one of the oldest and most prestigious events on the Cycling Ireland Calendar, and the Lucan Club always target a good performance over the Easter weekend.

LCRC had four of their top young riders named on the Cycling Ireland Development Team Shortlist for 2010. The names were announced after two intensive pre seson training camps in Charleville, and Westport. Enda Connolly, Sandra Fitzgerald, Darragh Zaidan and Ross Grogan will now be tested by Cycling Ireland coaches as they further refine the Irish Road and Track Development Teams for 2010.

Click Here For Schools Initiative Details:  Lucan Track Coach Stephen Gibbons, and Alec Darragh (Sundrive Track Team) spent the week Monday 22nd of Febuary to the Friday 26th introducing track cycling to the students fo Drimnagh Castle C.B.S, Long Mile Road, Dublin 12. With the help of the P.E teacher and former Olympic coach in track (running) and field Ciaran Coakley.

Dates 21st - 25th June 2010.  June 2010 will see The Army Air Corps in conjunction with LCRC running the inagural M2M Cycle Challenge. The event will be used to raise much needed funds for LARCC Cancer Centre www.larcc.ie This a a very deserving centre which offers vital respite care to adults suffering from cancer. The event is open to the Air Corps and LCRC members and promises to be an unforgettable cycling experience, riding from Mizen to Malin Head with full Army Air Corps Logistical & Accomodation support during the 5 days.

Dates 23rd - 25th June 2010.  For those LCRC members who would like to experience the M2M with the Air Corps support but cannot commit to a full week off work we have arranged a 2 Stage event to run in tandem with the full event.
